Often overlooked, Dunkel is the original bier style brewed in the ancient villages of Bavaria.  Despite pale lager’s modern-day popularity, this variation did not even exist until the mid 19th century. When Reinheitsgebot (Bavarian Beer Purity Law) was enacted in 1516, Dunkel became Germany's first standardized lager bier style.

While some bier-drinkers mistakenly only drink dark lager in the colder months, we invite you to try this staff favorite at your earliest opportunity.
